Comparing Developer Tools and Technologies: Analyzing Usage Patterns in Germany and the UK + Northern Ireland

In the dynamic world of software development, professionals vary across countries, influencing the usage of tools and technologies. While there may be some commonalities, certain tools and technologies may be more prevalent in specific countries. Against this background, we use the 2023 StackOverflow survey to uncover differences in the usage of tools and technologies among developers in Germany and the United Kingdom with Northern Ireland (UK+NI).

Dataset and Variables:

For our analysis, we utilized data from 7,328 and 5,552 developers who participated in the Stack Overflow Annual Developer Survey 2023 from Germany and the UK+NI, respectively. The categorical variables include Developer Type (DevType), Organizational Size (OrgSize), Programming and Script Languages (LanguageHaveWorkedWith), Databases (DatabaseHaveWorkedWith), Platforms (PlatformHaveWorkedWith), Web frameworks (WebframeHaveWorkedWith) and Miscellaneous Technologies (MiscTechHaveWorkedWith).

Methodological Approach:
